  I began my percussion training in the 4th grade at Plum Point Elementary School. I continued throughout all of my middle school years and through my years at Huntingtown High School, where I will graduate in the class of 2012. At Huntingtown, I have been a member of the drumline since my sophomore year.
The Huntingtown “Marching Hurricanes” are Chapter IX Champions for fice straight years, setting a Calvert County record. During the time with the team, I have received instruction from one of the most elite drum instructors and specialists, Mr. Daniel Valadie. I played marching bass drum for the first two seasons, and played the quad drums this past season in my senior year.

A few of my personal achievements I have made are:
· Competed in two drum-offs placing first in 2007 and third in 2008.
· Played drums for a church for 2 years among a band of adults
· Took the Percussion Ensemble course freshman year, and the Jazz Band course my senior year
· In both the Percussion Ensemble and Jazz Band courses, I was chosen to do drum solos in each of the concerts
· The Marching Hurricanes placed 6th in 2009 at the ACC’s tournament (which only consists of the best of the best bands along the east coast), 7th in 2010 and 3rd in 2011.
· Participated in two fine arts festivals within my church performing a solo and playing within the band each year. Our score was one point shy of going to nationals in Orlando, FL.

My passion is playing the drums because I believe music has the power to bring people together and change lives, as it has changed mine. I am blessed to have been given the opportunity to share my gift with others.
